Agenda: Review Causes of the Crusades on Page 72 of the workbook as class. Then start to understand the complexity, controversy and connection the Crusades have to our world today by filling out flow chart on Page 73 as a class. We'll be using clips from documentaries and film to bring it to life.

Agenda: Check and Review Lesson 10 Voc. as a class. While I'm doing that, please finish reading and highlighting Section 1. After we're done with the voc. review, get into groups of 2 and complete Section 1 questions. When finished, start reading and highlighting Section 2 (VERY IMPORTANT SECTION).

Agenda: Weekend wrap-ups, then introduce Lesson 10: The Crusades. Start with Preview as a class. Then pass out vocabulary sheet and complete 7 vocabulary terms for this lesson. If you finish the voc. by the end of class, please start reading and highlighting Section 1 of Lesson 10, thank you.

Agenda: Start class by reviewing your highlighting of Sections 3-5. Then add to your highlighting in the first 5 minutes of class. Next, we'll check the blog to review what we're doing for the rest of class. After our blog check, we'll have a fun RAPing (Review and Previewing) session, without your iPad and notes. Next, we'll complete an interactive hijrah of the classroom. Then we'll listen for and discuss audio clips on Sections 3-5 and we'll use the posted terms on the wall to decide which ones are the focus for 3-5. Finally, we'll finish class by working in groups of 2 or 3 to complete the timeline in your workbook on page 55.
Homework: Finish timeline on page 55, if not done yet.

Agenda: Dr. King Jr. weekend wrap-ups. Then watch a little more of the Islam: Empire of Faith documentary and use the detail of the doc. to complete the remaining workbook questions on Sections 4 & 5 (Pages 54 & 55 in the workbook).
Homework: READ & Highlight Lesson 7 Sections 3, 4 AND 5 on eBackpack if haven't yet. We'll be using them for a digital field-trip activity tomorrow :)

Agenda: Today we're going to map the Muslim Countries in our world. This will give you a chance to get to know them better. First you'll use pencil to find and write each country. Then you'll go over them in pen after you'll double-checked them. After that, you'll color the Muslim Countries all in one color (using a colored pencil) and then you'll color the shoreline blue.
Homework: Have map completed by start of class tomorrow.
