While I'm going around checking, you can choose to read and highlight one of two articles that I've posted on Newsela: "Trading Salt for Gold" OR "Black Panther Like Me". After we've reviewed ALL of Ch. 12, we'll be starting a documentary on the Lost Kingdoms of Africa. Make sure you're taking bullet point notes as the documentary is playing.
