Wednesday, January 17th

Agenda: Start class by reviewing your highlighting of Sections 3-5. Then add to your highlighting in the first 5 minutes of class. Next, we'll check the blog to review what we're doing for the rest of class. After our blog check, we'll have a fun RAPing (Review and Previewing) session, without your iPad and notes. Next, we'll complete an interactive hijrah of the classroom. Then we'll listen for and discuss audio clips on Sections 3-5 and we'll use the posted terms on the wall to decide which ones are the focus for 3-5. Finally, we'll finish class by working in groups of 2 or 3 to complete the timeline in your workbook on page 55. Homework: Finish timeline on page 55, if not done yet.

Tuesday, January 16th

Agenda: Dr. King Jr. weekend wrap-ups. Then watch a little more of the Islam: Empire of Faith documentary and use the detail of the doc. to complete the remaining workbook questions on Sections 4 & 5 (Pages 54 & 55 in the workbook). Homework: READ & Highlight Lesson 7 Sections 3, 4 AND 5 on eBackpack if haven't yet. We'll be using them for a digital field-trip activity tomorrow :)

Friday, January 12th

Agenda: Check/Review Lesson 7 vocabulary and Section 1 Q.'s as a class. Then watch a little more of the Islam: Empire of Faith documentary and take bullet-point notes please. Homework: None, enjoy your three day weekend thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. :)

Thursday, January 11th

Agenda: Transition back to the workbook and iPad reading of History Alive today by working on the Lesson 7 vocabulary and reading Section 1 and completing the questions on page 52. If you finish the reading and q.'s for Sect. 1 before the end of class, then please read Sects. 2 & 3 to prepare for our continuation of the Islam: Empire of Faith documentary tomorrow. Homework: Finish what you didn't in class for homework tonight. Both and vocabulary and Section 1 Q.'s are due at the start of class tomorrow.

Wednesday, January 10th

Agenda: Check and Review Muslim Countries Map as a class. Then watch a little more Islam: Empire of Faith documentary. Homework: None.

Tuesday, January 9th

Agenda: Today we're going to map the Muslim Countries in our world. This will give you a chance to get to know them better. First you'll use pencil to find and write each country. Then you'll go over them in pen after you'll double-checked them. After that, you'll color the Muslim Countries all in one color (using a colored pencil) and then you'll color the shoreline blue. Homework: Have map completed by start of class tomorrow.

Agenda: Welcome Back Wrap-Ups of your breaks (think about 3 things you want to share). Then introduce our next unit on Islam by starting to watch and take notes on the PBS documentary: Islam-Empire of Faith. Homework: None.
