Agenda: *iPad Day* First of all: Turn-in your October Sky reflection/summary as soon as you walk in. Get out your voc. and red pen. We're going to peer grade this one. Then read A Little Big History of Silver in Unit 3.1 and take notes=2 bullet points per paragraph please (will be important later this week). Homework: None, rest up for All Hallow's Eve tomorrow :)

Monday, October 29th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Weekend Wrap-Ups. Then take a few minutes to make sure you're happy with your October Sky summary, you'll be printing it tonight and turning it in for credit tomorrow. Finally, it's voc. day (yay) for Unit 3.1 Part 2. Homework: Print up your October Sky summary and turn in at the start of class tomorrow. Also finish 3.1 Voc. Part 2 (if not done already).

Friday, October 26th (Game 3)

Agenda: *iPad Day* Start class by finishing October Sky. Then take 15 minutes to type a paragraph about how this film has helped you understand/inspire you in our studies of space. Then we'll share our paragraphs with a partner and then with the class. If time at the end, brief baseball history lesson. Homework: None.

Wednesday, October 24th (Game 2)

Agenda: *iPad Day* Check voc. as a class (NEXT TIME IT WILL BE GRADED). Then you'll be working on the activity titled Life of a Star and we'll discuss as a class. First you'll be opening it with Notability and then doing the best you can to put them in order and be ready to share WHY. Homework: None.

Tuesday, October 23rd (Game 1 of the World Series)

Agenda: *iPad Day* Start class by finishing video and notes from yesterday. Then share notes as a class. After that, we're going to take a few minutes to check out the Hubble Space Telescope website as a class. Then voc. day individually (be sure to 2x check your answers with the BHP glossary). Homework: None, get your voc. done in class and then you can watch Game 1 of the World Series tonight on FOX!

Monday, October 22nd

Agenda: Share your Cosmic Comic Book with the class and also something you did over your weekend at the same time! After the whole class has shared, if there's time, watch How Were Stars Formed in Unit 3.0 as a class and take notes (if there isn't time in class, watch and take notes for homework). Homework: None, as long as we finish the in-class video watching and note-taking in class.

Agenda: Bring all your materials you need for your comic book project into class. Homework: Finish Cosmic Comic Book, due at the start of class on Monday.

Thursday, October 18th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Make sure to bring in a pencil, pen and colored pencils. You'll be working on your Universe Comic Book for the next two days. Homework: Continue to work on your Universe Comic Book (due Monday at the start of class).

Tuesday, October 16th

Agenda: Start class by reviewing Unit 2: Part 2 vocabulary as a class. Then video day: make sure you're taking bullet point notes (they'll help you later on this week). First we'll be watching and taking notes on videos in Unit 2.3 titled: What is the Universe Expanding Into, then Hubble's Expanding Universe and finally What are Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Homework: None.

Monday, October 15th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Weekend Wrap-Ups first. Then work in groups of two to complete Unit 2: Part 2 Vocabulary. If you finish before the end of class, please watch Introduction to Cosmology video found in Unit 2.2. Homework: None.

Friday, October 12th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Bring in all notes for Unit 2.1 Quiz today. Take quiz. Then Friday Funday Surprise. Homework: None.

Thursday, October 11th

Agenda: Find a classmate who has done the scientist that you still need and have them teach you (not just let you copy) their notes. Then switch so that everyone has all the notes. After that, cross-check the notes you already have on Copernicus and Galileo with the readings on those two scientists. If time left, organize your notes so that you're ready to go for the quiz tomorrow. Homework: Study and be ready for your open note quiz tomorrow!

Wednesday, October 10th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Today your job is to read, research and take notes on two more of the scientists that you haven't done yet. Make sure your notes are detailed because we will be having an OPEN NOTE quiz on the scientists in Unit 2.1 on FRIDAY. Homework: Study for Unit 2.1 Quiz on Friday.

Tuesday, October 9th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Begin class by taking 5 minutes to re-familiarize yourself with the scientist that you chose to read their article on last night. Then we'll do a class poll on who chose which scientist. After that, you'll take about 15 minutes to write a paragraph on why you chose the scientist you did (you're welcome to use the article for reasons why you chose that scientist). Then at the end of class, you'll share your paragraph with a classmate who also chose that same scientist. Homework: None.

Monday, October 8th

Agenda: *iPad Day* Weekend Wrap Ups. Then reflect on Friday's activity for a couple of minutes. After that, we're going to watch Crash Course Big History: Why Cosmic Evolution as a class. Please make sure you're taking bullet point notes to go along with the Key Ideas (per usual). Finally, you'll have a chance to start and maybe finish your homework in class. Choose between one of the articles on the following scientists you find in Unit 2.1: Ptolemy, Newton, Henrietta Leavitt or Edwin Hubble. After you've decided please read that article and be ready to discuss WHY you decided on that scientist. Homework: Finish reading your chosen article by the start of class tomorrow.

Agenda: Leave out your notes on Complexity and Thresholds on your desk to be checked. Then we'll work on and complete the activity: Claim Testing-The Big Bang as a class. Homework: None.

Agenda: *iPad Day* Begin class by passing to the front your Who Knows What Q.'s. Then we're going to go around class and share your two professions (1 Q for each). After that, you'll read/take bullet point notes on the article Complexity and Thresholds (will be important for what we're doing tomorrow). If you finish before the end of class, you're welcome to check out the activity we're doing tomorrow: Claim Testing-The Big Bang. Homework: None, as long as you've finished your bullet points for the article on Complexity and Thresholds.

Wednesday, October 3rd

Agenda: *iPad Day* Today we'll be using the 1st Lunar landing as a our historical event to analyze. Using a clip of the first Moon Landing, we'll think of how this event impacted/impacts us in a range of ways. Homework: Finish questions from different perspectives, if not done by end of class.

Tuesday, October 2nd

Agenda: Start class by peer grading your Unit 2 Voc. (make sure you're using your red pen to grade please). Then the rest of today will be a documentary clip day from Big History about Unit 2.0. Make sure that you have paper and a blue or black pen to take bullet point notes please. Homework: Think about and look up (if you need to) the Moon Landing. Think about its significance to our world today; that'll be our topic to discuss tomorrow.

Monday, October 1st

Agenda: *iPad Day* First Weekend Wrap-Ups. Then work on Unit 2 Voc. Part One handout individually. If you finish before the end of class, you may explore more of Unit 2 on Big History or read your silent reading book silently. Homework: None, as long as you finish the voc. by the end of class.
