Friday, March 29th

Agenda: Use first half of class to finish your Muslim Innovations/Inventions worksheets. When you're done, please place them in your period stack on the TA desk. Then it's Friday Funday! Have fun drawing the Taj Mahal. There are class copies of the helper guide and computer paper on the Dodger Stadium seats :) This won't be graded, but it could look great on your fridge at home! Homework: None, have a relaxing Spring Break!!

Agenda: *iPad Day* Continue at your own pace to work INDIVIDUALLY on the Lesson 9 (Muslim Inventions) worksheets and placard activity. Stay focused and I'm confident you got this :) Homework: Remember, if you need to work tonight, that you'll have half of class tomorrow to finish your worksheets before I check them.

Agenda: *iPad Day* Explain the worksheets that you'll be working on for the next couple of days. Then open Google Classroom and read Lesson 9 (titled Muslim Innovations) and highlight first. Then, only after you've read and highlighted the entire lesson, start looking around class for Muslim Innovations/Inventions and begin to fill out your worksheets. Don't rush, you'll have tomorrow to finish. Homework: Worksheets due halfway thru class on Friday!

Tuesday, March 26th

Agenda: Using your red book, page 180, fill out 5 Pillars chart (you don't need to fill out the arabic name or the 5th pillar for now). Using documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pv_BPa12xZE&t=329s) fill out 5th pillar on the Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Homework: None.

Agenda: iPads Stay Outside Today Please. Weekend Wrap-Ups (especially since we haven't done them for a couple of weeks). Then share one thing you learned from Islam: Empire of Faith documentary with the class. After that, watch more of the documentary a (up until 50 minutes in for those who are absent today). Homework: None.

Agenda: iPads stay outside today please. Follow-up theme of tolerance by starting our mini-unit on Islam. We'll be watching the first part of the PBS documentary Islam: Empire of Faith ( you can find it on youtube if you're absent today at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF6VPZsHDZQ ). Make sure you're taking detailed bullet-point notes during the documentary. We'll discuss as a class after weekend wrap-ups on Monday. Homework: None.

Agenda: *iPads Stay Outside Today Please* Start class with weekend wrap-ups and you'll share your Latin voc. term. Then dramatic reading of "The Crossing" as a class. (We'll answer follow-up q.'s from the reading together.) Finally, I'm going to pass out a handout on 42 Reasons for the Fall of Rome. Your job is to choose the 3 you feel are the main reasons Rome collapsed and write a paragraph about why you chose those 3. Be ready to share with a partner tomorrow. Homework: Finish your 3 Reasons for Fall of Rome paragraph, if you aren't done by end of class.
